This course is designed to equip candidates with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and digital seamanship competencies required to identify, mitigate, and report cyber risks within the modern superyacht environment. It is specifically intended for officers pursuing a professional certification pathway and is included among the academic courses for the Master of Power Yachts of Less Than 500 GT and Master of Power Yachts of Less Than 3,000 GT certification levels.

• Be at least 18 years old
• Candidates must be enrolled in the relevant Master certification program.
Upon successful completion of this course, candidates will be able to:
• Apply an understanding of the international maritime cybersecurity regulatory landscape, including IMO 2021 guidelines, and the role of crew members in maintaining compliance.
• Identify common cyber threats affecting superyacht operations, including phishing, social engineering, and AI-driven fraud.
• Implement effective daily cyber hygiene practices for both personal and professional digital devices used onboard.
• Execute appropriate cyber incident response procedures, including system isolation, communication protocols, and formal reporting processes.
• Protect Owner and Guest privacy by applying responsible data handling practices and maintaining disciplined network and information security procedures.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded the Cyber Seamanship Certificate of Proficiency, aligned with the IMO Guidelines on Maritime Cyber Risk Management (MSC-FAL.1/Circ.3/Rev.3), IMO Resolution MSC.428(98), and applicable international maritime safety and cybersecurity standards.
